Messaging & SMS Terms
Last updated July 15, 2026
1. What we send
CoveredLine sends transactional text messages tied to a specific interaction with the business you called — for example, an appointment confirmation for a booking you just made, a link you asked for during a call, or a courtesy message when your call couldn't be answered. We do not send marketing blasts, and we don't sell or rent phone numbers for advertising.
2. Consent
- When you call a business that uses CoveredLine and its receptionist asks whether it may text you, saying yes is your consent for that business to send you transactional texts: the confirmation or link you asked for on the call, and texts about your appointments and things you ask that business for in the future. The receptionist names the business, reads your number back, and asks for a yes or no before anything is sent.
- Consent is per business. Saying yes to one business that uses CoveredLine does not opt you in to any other business on CoveredLine; each one's receptionist asks you separately.
- Consent to receive texts is not a condition of purchasing anything.
- Message frequency varies based on your interactions. Message and data rates may apply.
3. Opt out and get help
To stop: reply STOP to any message. Texts from every business that uses CoveredLine are sent from one shared CoveredLine number, so STOP stops all texts sent through CoveredLine, not only the business whose message you replied to; you'll receive one confirmation that no further messages will be sent. To start again, reply START. For help: reply HELP or contact the business directly. You can also reach us at support@coveredline.com.
4. Carriers
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your carrier and device, and we can't guarantee that every message arrives.
5. If you're a business using CoveredLine
You are the sender of record for texts to your callers, and you agree that:
- You will only enable texting for lawful, transactional purposes and will comply with the TCPA, CTIA guidelines, and carrier (A2P 10DLC) requirements — including honoring STOP requests, which the Service processes automatically.
- You will provide accurate business registration information required to send messages through carriers.
- You will not use the Service to send prohibited content (as defined by carriers and our Acceptable Use Policy), such as unlawful, deceptive, or high-risk category messages that you are not authorized to send.
6. Changes
We may update these Messaging Terms as carrier rules and our features change, and will revise the date above.
